Welcome to the Family and our Bull Sale

A wedding party poses in front of a wooden gazebo with sunflowers and elegant attire.

Welcome to the annual Huber EY Red Angus production sale. We first want to take the time to thank past buyers for supporting our program. The people in our corner make this possible and worth our time. Here at Huber EY Red Angus, we are proud and grateful to be part of the small percentage of producers dedicated to supplying the food and fiber that sustains our country. Our goal has remained the same: be deliberate in our cull process and offer the highest end to our customers. We strive to make practical cattle, built to operate in real world conditions. We focus on a balance of structural soundness, carcass merit, performance and fertility. Our family stands behind every hide that sports the EY brand. We have been feeding the bulls here at the ranch since weaning time. Their diet consists of a TMR mixture of hay barley, hay, silage, DDGs, corn and a mineral supplement. Our nutrition goal is to develop these bulls responsibly; we want them to be able to work for our customers and last. The bulls have been 50K tested, ultrasounded and have passed their first semen exam conducted by Dr. Galbreath in Edgeley. They have also received a foot rot shot and a prebreeding shot.Alongside our registered herd, we run a commercial cow herd and farm. We would not be able to undertake it all without the help of our workforce. We want to thank Joe, Garrett and our family for everything they do. Though the work can be challenging, there’s nothing more rewarding than building a future alongside the next generation. We encourage you to visit and take a look at the bulls before the sale at the ranch. We would love to show you the cow herd that back these genetics. We look forward to the chance to visit with you and earn your business.

Sincerely, The Huber family, Bryan, Emmy, Issac, Emma, Alex and Betsy

In loving Memory of Francis "Jim" Huber

In loving memory of Francis 'Jim' Huber, 1947-2026, from Jud, ND.

Francis “Jim” Huber was born on March 6, 1947, to Pete and Caroline “Lena” Huber. He was the second oldest of nine children. Jim passed away on February 14, 2026, in Jamestown, North Dakota, while residing at Ave Maria. He spent the majority of his life on the family farm near Jud, North Dakota-a place that shaped who he was and where his heart always remained.

Jim was a man of the land. He spent nearly all of his life working in the fields and in the farm shop, dedicating himself to the work he knew best. Farming was not just his livelihood-it was his way of life. Through long days, changing seasons, and countless hours of hard work, Jim demonstrated perseverance, responsibility, and quiet pride in caring for the land and providing for his family.

Jim was a devoted member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church in Nortonville and a proud member of the Knights of Columbus, organizations that reflected his faith, values, and commitment to service.

Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Judy Huber; his parents, Pete and Lena Huber; and his brother, Allen G. Huber.

He is survived by his children: Bryan (Emmy) Huber, Amanda (Tracy) Brumfield, Brandon (Amanda) Huber, and Justin (Melissa) Huber. Jim was proud of his children and the lives they built, and he valued family above all else.

Jim was a loving grandfather to twelve grandchildren: Isaac (Emma), Alex, and Betsy Huber (children of Bryan and Emmy); Samuel, Noah, and Anna Brumfield (children of Amanda and Tracy); Austin, Parker, and Brooke Huber (children of Brandon and Amanda); Lucas, Madison, and Christian Huber (children of Justin and Melissa). He is also survived by his siblings; Sally (James) Mathern, Betty (Dave) Glaspell, Tom Huber, Char (Mike) Manstrom, Ron (Rita) Huber, Terry Huber, and Steve (Betty) Huber, along with many nieces and nephews.  After the passing of his wife Judy, Jim later shared many happy years with his longtime companion, Genny Barker.

Jim will be remembered for his strong work ethic, his steady presence, and his lifelong dedication to the family farm. Though he lived a simple life, it was one grounded in purpose, commitment, faith, and love for his family and the land. Those who knew Jim understood that his actions spoke louder than words, and his legacy lives on through his children, his grandchildren, and the values he quietly passed on.

In lieu of flowers, Jim preferred memorial donations be made to the Jud Volunteer Fire Department or the Edgeley Ambulance Service.

Jim requested not to have a formal funeral, and his family will be honoring his wishes. A celebration of life gathering will be held at Transfiguration Parish Hall in Edgeley on Sunday, February 22, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Jim’s children will gather privately at a later date to place a marker for Jim and Judy at a location that was special to them.
